Her Creative Cry Approaches Us With A Message of An Impression of Divine Skill

  Choi, Hyun Ja is a writer who imagines the outside within herself. It means that she responds to the virtual world of simulacre of the outside world through internal image. We need to notice her exceptional story structure in this series of her works that three treasures such as feelings, energy and god show in the juncture of the cosmos and life.    

  Choi, Hyun Ja began to get attention from the art world by being awarded a grand prize in Danwon Grand Art Exhibition celebrating the new millenium in 2000. We read her work world of a neurotic thought when we see the themes of her recent works. It is an asteroid of the personified robot like another Golem in the periscope as if she observes the universe against the background of optical grid.    

  Choi, Hyun Ja takes a new expression style in which she unravels a virtual world of strong thematic feelings received from her image as if she expresses according to a script. Her themes are the expression of an asteroid seen from a evolutionary eyesight like stars that she controls in the metaphor of Heopungi, Jangguni, Sundungi, Chunpi, Chunpungi, Banpuni, Kangnam ma 'am, B.H.J.P.R, etc. 

  We find her message in the creative cries and the existence of stars in her works in such dynamic imaginative power and structured works. The grid is the stage that makes the asteroid dance and the music sheet that shows the musical scale in the structure densely set against the background of an asteroid. The creation of the grid is the cosmos of the beginning and the self-conscious world that expresses eternity.   

  In this sense Hyun Ja Choi is a transformer and a director more than a creative artist. Her imaginative power not only creates objects into an asteroid in expressing artistic value and pleasure by transforming existing images but also captures and constructs them.   

  It is not difficult to read new changes in comparing her 11th personal exhibitions after 2000 and the fourth Personal exhibition this year. It’s because she shows that the creative world in which changes of skills she has built and uplifted for a long time is carved in today’s works.  

  Primarily Hyun Ja Choi perceived that the reality of the creative world is different from the proper phenomenon of matters. In other words, she had a creative self-productive world responding to the world of the Milky Way and created by mobilizing characters like animal friends or patches. I feel something like the divine vigor of automatic motion seeing her dreamy and lined-up expression. Such temperament of hers is approaching us in the form of new expressionism which transcends the traditional style and shows estrangement effect excelling existing things.       

  We feel pride in Hyun Ja Choi’s works. In her works she not only perceives the world of value, but also expresses pleasure that springs from her inquiry of herself and her competence due to her pride. She lets us contemplate pleasure of immersion and spiritual opening through new science fiction with the format constructed newly in the screen.  

  Choi, Hyun Ja is a leading artist who is near the goal line. There is no doubt that her repeated dal segno phenomenon will open to us a new horizon in creation as we see a light in the halo of stars in the cosmos.
