Dynamic Space

Dynamic Space (Kal Ryung)

Her works, strictly speaking, may not be categorized in geometric abstraction or structure although her paintings can be described by the geometric techniques.

Her paintings show a more liberated modification based on the geometric patterns.

At the same time, her style is approaching expressionistic nature by powerful touch with strong colorings, floating canvas-handling, thereby completing the space.

Her paintings are generally an abstract composition, but clearly it has a figurative nature as well.

Her recent works are toward a more and more dynamic composition. The dynamics is not only for the composition.

But also it is for overlappings and intersections of various colorings, for the contrast of curve and straight lines, and/or circles and accutes.

In other words, time and space is dynamically alive in the paintings.

Her fundamental art motives are the geometric patterns such as curve and straight lines, circles and accutes.

This geometric pattern reflects a round pattern of human body and/or a living organs in her abstraction.

On the other, a compound structure are again made by various modifications, and foldings and  unfoldings with animated colorful variations.

However, with artistic variations, there is a very different nature. That is figurative one. Moreover, partial collage is added. It may imply a certain image by round or another pattern.

The geometric pattern, in the first, is functioning as art motives and the motives invoke a series of association with fundamentals.

The key of the associations is symbolically and geometric image. Those constitute the dynamic space with more outward composition.

Her work basis is very consistent throughout the most recent ones. The tasks she is facing now seems to be a inherent integration.
