대화(conversation)

나는 흙으로 작업하는 작가이다.

흙은 이 땅에서 수만 년 동안 모든 생명을 잉태하고, 

품어주고, 자라게 하고 소멸시켰다.

흙은 인간을 포함한 모든 자연의 생명현상에 관여하는

가장 중요한 매개체이다.

나는 이 모든 것을 담고 있는 흙을 소중히 다루는 것부터 작업이 시작되며

이렇게 소중한 흙이 잠시나마 캔바스에 머물 수 있도록 자리를 만들어 본다.

더불어 이러한 작업과정을 통하여

나는 흙과 대화하고 소통하며

나를 비워내는 시간을 가져보고

나 자신으로부터 좀 더 자유롭고자 한다.

I am an artist who works with clay. Soil gives birth to all life on this earth for tens of thousands of years, It was embraced, made to grow, and destroyed. Soil is involved in all natural life phenomena, including humans. It is the most important medium. My work begins with treating the soil that contains all of this with care. Let’s make a space so that this precious soil can stay on the canvas for a while.
