Happy Accompanying - Looking for the missing of the lyricism_Ryu Jae Keun(Literary critic) | |
Ode to Artist Park Jung Hee’s Private Exhibition Kim Jong Kyu (Honorary president of Korea Museum Association, Chairman of The National Trust for Cultural Heritage ) The female established artist Park Jeong Hee is like a girl who is revering beautiful flowers and spring. Artist Park has shown the world of various works which themes are flowers and trees, fruits etc like grapes, forest, pond and abstract natural images that only she knows by freewheeling techniques like trampling colors that are similar to primary colors. These materials are most familiar and instinctive and give primitive comforts that embryo feels in the amniotic fluid of conceived mother. To me, her works tell messages of hopes and treatment through endless life of nature, but appears with dreamy mystique, depth of abyss nature, cold solitude. T. S. Eliot the English poet said this hopeful season is the cruelest. It is the paradox of poet’s idea, because all things are reviving with tearing their skins. Maybe that is why solitudes are feeling in Artist Park’s splendor of the beginning. “ Happy Accompanying ” - Looking for the missing of the lyricism - Ryu Jae Keun / Literary critic Fragrance of life in the everyday life It is blessing that we can meet Artist Park’s pictures in the competitive society in more keening everyday. She does not cheering nor instigating to us that are running forward blindly to be the first with faster running. It seems like say in a low voice to have a rest for a while. Thus in her works, tidiness and relaxed rhythm is coming with coziness and warm lyricism, and those techniques that describe and reproduce objects are reflecting gestures and respiration not quite functional and epideictic. The reason that picture is called molding language is because there are artist’s personal messages are in there. Her work is in the reinterpretation of appearances of nature and life as pictorial ways. She is trying to show the beautiful truth of the world through flowers and sceneries of their own shape and colors despite of neither colors nor appearances. Nature is beautiful by itself but those works in canvases that were reflected artist’s aesthetic sense comes with another movement. The reason of particular aesthetic emotion in her works is due to pictorial color image by paints unique combinations a lot. In addition, calm and quite expression is not obsessed to the unusual molding nor insist particular way. Not exaggerating nor decorating too far, but they are daily records that were dredged up those trivial and ordinary feelings from edge of our lives by beauty of harmony and various expressing techniques of the East and the West together. |
