Arts as poems singing the beauty of life

Written by Joon-Seok Jang (an art critic)

The colors on pictures are very special and strong as it reflects the pure images of nature.  The pictures are more like places where fancy red flowers, blushed pink faces and purple are in full bloom.  Because of the colors shown in the pictures, characters in the piece or abstract form of shape give special impression and embrace natural beauty.  Pictures implicates the artist's skill and talent.  Primitive and strong colors make harmony and become a complete beauty.  Special smells pictures from natural beauty in pictures make harmony in Young-Hee's arts.  Warm and strong colors reflect passions to express something one received from outside.  It might mean the life of active artists.  The Young-Hee's point of view is very sensational and emotional.  That can be invisible power that make people survive and passionate life one devotes himself.  Her arts remind people of comfortable and unstained hometown and enhance to arts like poems.  There definitely exists harmony among relaxation, soft feeling, intensity, the beauty of life and primitive.

Jong-keun Kim  Art CriticYoung-hee,

who describes the splendid and fantastic women, draws the art work revealing the secret charms hidden in women, like giving words to the model. One certain painting is warm and affectionate, like the paintings of Chagall. It is lyrical, like the paintings of Renoir, and has a passionatelonging for a lover, bursting with flavor, like a perfume. The figures in her paintings are colorful and gorgeous, and look like women in the autumn, or in the movies, are embodied with a unique sense and form, to remind the artist of herself, at a glance. Since she did not hesitate to use strange heterogeneous colors, but used rich colors, she must have theinner passion of an artist. Self-portraits or inner expressions, which resemble an older sister, are gradually reborn in a woman who has her own form. This should be welcomed as an artist. In particular, she has expanded the breadth of current female figurative artists,by expressing the psychological state of women succinctly in every feminine figure.
If we think of these figures, theywould be women’s faces, dreaming of a beautiful dream not wanting to wake up from the dream, or just portraits. Her paintings have facesthat seem dreamy with beautiful eyes and expression. It is the portrait of women with warm eyes and minds. Maybe, as Picasso said, "If I was an impressionist painter, how happy would I be?" He may envy her paintings which pursuesesthetic beauty.
Her style, which turns the pure feeling of a woman into intense colors,is splendid and popular, like friendly comfortable women who are widely loved. The woman’s warm face islike the soft touch of wool, and has the delicate natural contour lines and shapes, deep lush colors which look more attractive with the woman’s unique brush strokes and techniques. These works of art, by Young-hee, are portraits of women with all their passion, which is sufficient to enjoy the bright colors, and the pleasure of feminine feeling of vitality, like Renoir’s artistic charm in his paintings.Who else could draw this beauty? Fantastic women, who have dreams, and look beautiful and tempting, or with a reflective expression, having a beautiful and happy face as she recollects something. Young-hee catches women, who try to live, having a beautiful mind and recreates women with joy and pleasure on the canvas. Fantastic brush strokes of woman, adorned with a colorful mix depicting theshape of a transformed face creates a dreamy atmosphere, by harmonizing soft colors through the handling a brush. Women, who have happy facesand delicate skin, in her portraits, are newly born in unique colors, and whose eyes then wink to us.

Likewise, life is beautiful and thus we should live life. If we find a happy face in our life like the women in her paintings, her artistic purpose will be completed.
